2017 Incoming Campers Have Arrived

Yesterday, the first group of 2017 Campers arrived in New York City. Today, some of the Campers visited CRS alumni at their workplace, received a tour of the work site and the alumni answered questions the campers had about their careers. Tomorrow is the first day of camp. We are excited and are looking forward to sending the Campers up to CRS tomorrow.

All year long, we work towards and long for the first day of Camp, like a favorite holiday. The day we have all been waiting for is tomorrow and that makes today, First-Day-of-Camp-Eve. I got very sentimental today as I shook hands with Maor from Israel, Lucas from South Africa and Benjamin from Staten Island who I remembered from the NYC interviews. As we greeted in the lobby of alumnus Marshall Beil's office, I thought, the lives of these boys are about to be changed. This change is incremental, with each day adding a layer of knowledge, self-awareness, and growth. By the end of the summer, they will consider themselves completely different. After a wonderful tour and career talk with Marshall, we stood in the lobby and did not shake hands goodbye- we hugged. I realized that the change had already begun. Stay tuned throughout the season to watch the evolution. I cannot wait!   - Helene Mattera, Executive Director
