The Louis August Jonas Foundation (LAJF), sponsor of Camp Rising Sun, is the culmination of the life’s work and legacy of the founder, George “Freddie” Jonas. He chose to invest in young people with the hope of creating a better world. His hard work and resources have touched the lives of not only those fortunate enough to have attended Camp Rising Sun, but more widely to their families, communities, networks, institutions and governments they have impacted. There is no doubt a positive ripple effect of change born by Freddie’s legacy gift and our community of leaders.

It is time for the next generation to add to Freddie’s legacy to ensure the future of Camp Rising Sun and its impact on the world. It will require the solid financial footing that results from generous annual and planned giving by those who know us best- you.

A Future Gift

A future gift to the LAJF Endowment may be made in a bequest through your will, life insurance policy, or retirement plan assets. You can leave a specific asset, a sum of money, a percentage of your estate, or remainder of your estate after you have provided for other beneficiaries. You retain the ability to change your bequest during your lifetime.

How

  • Create a will or write a simple codicil to your existing will

  • Name LAJF the beneficiary of a life insurance policy.

  • Contact the administrator of your retirement plan and request a beneficiary designation form. Designate LAJF as the beneficiary of part of all of your retirement plan assets.

Consult with your legal or financial advisor when considering a planned gift. We are happy to discuss your wishes and intentions; however, LAJF is unable to offer direct legal or financial advice on estate planning.

LAJF is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization. The federal tax id number is 14-1387863. This charitable status may offer you the opportunity to reduce the tax due on your estate. These benefits vary internationally.
