Meet Nick, Camp Co-Director

Meet Nick!

As we gear up for the 2025 Camp Season, we want to introduce you to our Summer Team! Nick returns as one of our Camp Co-Directors this year. Check out our interview with him below:

Can you briefly introduce yourself?

My name is Nick Basalyga, and I’m stoked to be returning for a second summer as Camp Co-Director alongside Raven. I’m originally from Scranton, PA but spent the last four years in the Southwest United States between Durango, CO and Tucson, AZ.

What originally brought you to CRS?
I arrived at CRS last summer to serve as the social worker and Assistant Camp Director. CRS’ history, mission, and values are what drew me to the organization. Additionally, I’m a believer in immersive experiences for their ability to spark creativity, inspiration, and change, and Camp offers endless amounts of those moments.

What is your favorite part of the CRS experience?
My favorite part of the CRS experience is seeing campers and staff sharing with, caring for, and learning from each other.

What does ethical leadership mean to you?
Ethical leadership to me means considering others, the world, and ourselves in everyday decisions, big and small.

What is your intention or hope for the summer?
My intention for the summer is to meet each moment with new eyes and be present with everyone and everything.

What is your favorite spot at Camp?
By the lake or in the trails.

What’s on your summer camp playlist or reading list?
