Barry Fulton
Executive Director
Barrington “Barry” Fulton Jr brings a lifelong connection to Camp Rising Sun and a deep commitment to youth development and education to his role as Executive Director of the Foundation.
A proud 1999 and 2000 CRS Red Hook alumnus, Barry has served the organization in numerous roles over the years—including seven summers in leadership roles such as Camp Director and Program & Professional Development Director. His return to Camp Rising Sun is both a homecoming and a continuation of his passion for nurturing young leaders.
Barry’s professional journey spans over two decades in independent schools, where he has built a career rooted in educational leadership and community building. Most recently, he served as Head of Middle School at The Foote School in New Haven, CT, and previously held leadership and teaching positions at North Shore Country Day School (IL), The Pingry School (NJ), The Pennington School (NJ), and The Berkshire School (MA). Across these schools, Barry has served as Middle School Dean, Diversity Coordinator, English teacher, dorm parent, and even hip-hop dance instructor. He also contributed to the Salisbury Summer School as a department chair, dormitory head, and Dance Program Coordinator.
Barry holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from The Klingenstein Center at Teachers College, Columbia University, and a bachelor’s degree in English and Psychology from Williams College.
Barry now brings his full range of experience to his leadership at LAJF, where he is looking forward to advancing its mission and continuing its legacy of supporting the next generation of compassionate leaders around the world. He believes he wouldn’t be who he is today, if it hadn’t been for the transformative experience that is Camp Rising Sun.
Jill Fieldstein
Director of Operations
Jill joined the LAJF team after pursuing careers in the television news business, the law and, more recently as an elections administrator. As Business Manager, Jill works with the Executive Director to develop and implement all financial, operational and human relations aspects of the Foundation’s activities. Jill is also working with the Development team to broaden LAJF’s potential revenue streams through property rentals, program fees and other revenue-generating activities.
Jill began her professional life working in the television news industry and was fortunate to work with some of the industry’s greats like Mike Wallace and Ted Koppel. Jill then became a lawyer specializing in securities regulation. A world-changing election led Jill to a greater involvement in community and politics and, eventually, to a job helping to administer elections for Dutchess County (the home of Camp Rising Sun). In her spare time, Jill chairs the Dover Democratic Committee, is the Treasurer for the Dutchess Democratic Women’s Caucus, and volunteers with the J. H. Ketcham Hose Company Auxiliary.
Jill is grateful for the opportunity to use her considerable energy to support the work of an organization dedicated to developing leaders who strive to better their communities and the world. And, having attended sleepaway camp from 1965 through 1973, and working as a counselor for two years during college, she is thrilled to be back at camp after all this time, now as a year-round “camper.”
