We have an incredible team of summer staff who build the foundation for the life-changing experiences our campers have each year! For two weeks before the season starts, the team goes through a Staff Training that deepens their understanding of Camp and lays the groundwork for the weeks to come. Autumn is the time of the year where many alumni associations across the globe welcome home new campers. It is a time to begin new friendships across generations – something quite special to the CRS Alumni community. Over the last year the LAJF Board, Staff, and Volunteers have worked diligently to preserve our Camp at Red Hook and make the best use of it to further our mission. What follows is an update on what is being done to restore the property, the property tax-exempt status, the use of Red Hook by 2017 campers and the steps required to re-open Red Hook.
As of August 2017, the USA's J-1 Visa, which includes the camp counselor visa program, is now being included in the discussion of potential visa categories that could be limited or cut entirely as a part of the Buy American and Hire American initiative.
