Congratulations to LAJF's George E. Jonas Scholarship recipients! The scholarship is awarded every academic year to individuals who have been enriched by the Camp Rising Sun program and are using the values and knowledge they have acquired to help their communities in creative and exciting ways. Continuing with the Camper For Life series, Carl Schoenberger (‘66, ‘67) interviewed Dick Jones (‘68) to learn what Camper For Life means to Dick. “[Camp] didn’t influence my career choices, per se.... What Camp did was inform my views.”
CRS alumnus Carl Manalo (‘95 ‘96 ‘11), has been featured in several articles describing how he creates a culture of caring at his school. "CRS and LAJF are probably the reasons why I’m in the field of Education, working with this age group. My experiences at CRS are key to my educational philosophy."
CRS alumnae Janelle (‘96, ‘97, ‘01 - ‘03, ‘06) and Lisa (‘01- ‘03) Iglesias are an art duo whose interactive installation, Las Hermanas Iglesias: HERE, HERE, is currently housed in the Utah Museum of Fine Art. This installation seeks to bring people together and encourages creative experimentation. This exhibit runs until January 28.
