Hannah Olson '08 and family aim to set world record through food-drive effort in MN
The Olson Family, including Hannah Olson '08 and her mom and dad, Patti and Eric, and brothers Lucas and Jacob are thinking big. "World-record big'" as reported by TwinCities.com. The family has launched an initiative to collect food for the Valley Outreach food shelf and formed the St. Croix Valley World Record Food Drive Partnership by bringing together partners throughout the region.
The partnership aims to collect more than 515,067 pounds of food and personal-care items March 11. That amount would fill more than 15 semitrailers and would also break the record for the world's largest single-day, single-site food drive.
Hannah's mom, Patti, said, "It's more about helping people than breaking records, but we figured, why can't our community come together, help neighbors in need and break the record?"
