Jacob Kiel '10 is national finalist in the Team America Rocketry Challenge
Jacob Kiel '10 is doing more than just gazing at the stars, he and his Mahtomedi High School Rocket Team are shooting rockets headed skyward and winning top national recognition.
Jacob and the team started work in late October and have met regularly throughout the year. The culmination of their hard work: a rocket that achieved a 43-second flight reaching a height of 802 feet. This impressive achievement earned the team the top ranking in Minnesota and a place among the top 100 teams in the United States.
Jacob will be part of the team as it competes at the Team America Rocketry Challenge on Saturday, May 12 at Great Meadow in The Plains, Virginia, about 50 miles west of Washington, DC.
